PRESS RELEASE

Under Armour Updates Emissions Reduction Strategy
05.09.2025

BALTIMORE, May 9, 2025 – At Under Armour, innovation is at the core of how we tackle sustainability challenges. Our journey began in 1996 with the launch of a sweat-wicking shirt that revolutionized athletic wear. Last month, during Milan Design Week, we advanced this legacy with the debut of Under Armour x UNLESS, a groundbreaking regenerative sportswear collection designed to help drive a transformative shift in the industry.

Like the athletes we serve, we are constantly evolving – and so is our game plan. We previously announced bold targets, including transitioning all energy use in our owned and operated facilities to 100% renewable sources by 2030, reducing absolute Scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 30% by 2030, and achieving net-zero GHG emissions by 2050. Our 2030 emissions reduction goal was validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

However, as our business and sustainability strategies continue to evolve – and as new challenges and opportunities emerge – we believe it is prudent to reassess our GHG emissions reduction strategy and targets. Accordingly, we will not pursue SBTi re-validation of our 2030 goal or validation of our 2050 net-zero commitment at this time.

While we remain agile in our approach, our commitment to our core values and to continuous improvement is unwavering. Guided by our five values – Love Athletes, Celebrate the Wins, Stand for Equality, Act Sustainably, and Fight On Together – we are dedicated to navigating the environmental and business complexities of our industry with responsibility and integrity.

As we reassess our emissions strategy, we ask for the continued support of our athletes, consumers, customers, partners, and teammates worldwide. Together, we will continue driving positive change for our business, our communities, and our planet.
