30th Anniversary
As Under Armour celebrates 30 years in business, we reflect on some of the milestone moments that helped shape our journey. This 12-part video series dives deep into the Under Armour archives, shining light on our story through the eyes of those that are helping write it. “Roses to Pearls” represents our humble beginnings from a college-run startup to the motion, pressure and care it takes to form a pearl—the customary gift given on the 30th anniversary.
Part 1 - Grandma’s House
Back where it all began. In this exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of Under Armour’s very first office, Grandma’s House, we get a first-hand account from founder & CEO Kevin Plank of what life was like in the early UA days. This never-before-seen tour is a whimsical walk down memory lane as KP recounts the brand’s humble beginnings and hungry attitude. 30 years later, the journey from Grandma’s House to The Sports House is still one of America’s great entrepreneurial stories.
Part 2 - THE ROSE STORY
Before Under Armour, there was “Cupid’s Valentine Rose Delivery.” This was the start-up KP ran out of his University of Maryland dorm room, using Grandma’s basement as storage for his live inventory. Each February he would take orders at all hours of the day and night, making sure every detail was accounted for…delivering more than 1,000 dozen roses in a single day! Ultimately the $16,000 he raised from this business served as the seed money that allowed him to start Under Armour.
So, at Under Armour, when we say we LOVE athletes, you now know that comes from an authentic place.
