PROGRAM INITIATIVES

FACILITIES IMPROVEMENT

Under Armour is renovating every Baltimore City Public High School gymnasium that participates in interscholastic athletics so no matter what Baltimore City High School a student athlete attends, they are all getting the same first-in-class experience on their home court. Renovations include refinished branded floors, customized wall padding and replacing bleachers and scoreboards as needed, with the intention to improve the student-athlete experience.

NEW ON-FIELD PERFORMANCE APPAREL

Every public high school student athlete in Baltimore City is outfitted with best-in-class Under Armour uniforms. In addition, every high school coach receives Under Armour performance apparel and each student athlete receives a one-of-a-kind Baltimore Student Athlete t-shirt. Providing this quality gear to students and coaches provides them with a sense of pride and serves as a way to unite athletes across the city.

COACHING AND ATHLETIC DIRECTOR TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT

Baltimore City Public High School Athletic Directors and Coaches receive foundational character- and leadership-based coaching support in-person and via online resources to ensure mentors are continuing to learn and grow as they serve student athletes. In partnership with the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA), a national non-profit organization with the mission of creating a positive, character-building youth sports environment, and the Baltimore Ravens, every City Schools' coach will be invited to coaches’ trainings.

STUDENT ATHLETE LEADERSHIP COUNCIL

In partnership with the Fund for Educational Excellence and the Travis Manion Foundation, the Student Athlete Leadership Council looks to improve the experience of student athletes and promote leadership, individual growth and teamwork. Every month, 70+ male and female student athletes from all Public City Schools High Schools meet for group discussions, mentorship, challenges, and engaging activities all designed around becoming the athletes and leaders they want to be.
