Where Goals Begin: Jayde Riviere Hosts the Next Gen

Manchester United defender and Canadian Olympic Gold medalist Jayde Riviere returned home to give back in a big way—teaming up with Under Armour for the second consecutive year to host an immersive training experience for more than 30 youth players from Pickering Football Club (PFC), her hometown team.

Jayde, who played for PFC from 2005 to 2014, has become a role model for countless young athletes, many of whom now dream of following in her footsteps. This exclusive clinic gave participants a rare opportunity to learn directly from a world-class player and understand what it takes to compete on the international stage.

"It means so much to return to my home club for the second year in a row with Under Armour by my side."

"They’ve championed me from the start, and we both believe in creating access to sport and opportunity. I’m proud to partner with them to give back and inspire the next generation in the community that raised me.”

The on-field portion of the event offered a high-level training session crafted by Jayde’s former PFC coaches. The session focused on developing technical skills and game intelligence, starting with a dynamic warm-up led by Jayde herself. Players rotated through skill-focused drills and small-sided activities, with Jayde actively engaging each group and jumping into the action. The day wrapped up with a spirited scrimmage that blended friendly competition with fun and teamwork.

"Having Jayde come back to our club is really inspiring"

"Training with someone who has achieved what she has shows me what’s possible if I work hard. I am excited about how she could help me improve my skills and to learn about the mindset I need to play at her level."

Jayde’s visit comes on the heels of another milestone in her professional journey. In January 2025, she extended her contract with Manchester United for three more years, solidifying her status as a key figure in one of football’s most iconic clubs. Since joining United in 2023, Jayde has made 32 appearances and continues to be an integral part of the Canadian Women’s National Team. She recently represented Canada in international friendlies and is part of the squad building toward the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
