Jayde Riviere and Under Armour host skills clinic for next-gen female soccer players

Jayde Riviere, Manchester United and Canadian national team player, and Under Armour athlete, gave back to her home Pickering Football Club (PFC) by hosting an immersive training experience for 32 youth players.

Jayde played for PFC between 2005 to 2014 and is an inspiration to the athletes who participated. The clinic provided a rare opportunity for young athletes to train alongside Jayde and learn what it takes to compete on the international stage.

The on-field experience featured an elite training session designed by Jayde’s former PFC coach to enhance participants' skills and knowledge of the game. Beginning with a warm-up led by Jayde, players then participated in structured drills and programming, with Jayde visiting various stations to interact and play alongside the athletes. The highlight of the day was a lively head-to-head match between participants.

“Learning and playing alongside Jayde was incredible. I loved hearing about what it takes to get to play at the international level.”

The off-field experience included a fireside chat led by nationally-recognized sportscaster Kate Beirness, who interviewed Jayde about her journey in sport, followed by questions from the audience. Players were surprised with head-to-toe UA kits, including the UA Women’s Shadow Elite 2.0 FG cleats, and a soccer ball autographed by Jayde.

Additionally, the clinic offered a variety of engaging activities for participants, including personalized photo opportunities, a custom t-shirt station, and match prizes for an MVP from each team, as well as offensive and defensive players of the game.

Also on June 18th, the City of Pickering, Ontario announced that it would be renaming the Kinsmen Football Field in Pickering to the Jayde Riviere Field.

"Having a field in my hometown named after me is an honour. It's a reminder that hard work and dedication can lead to incredible opportunities. I hope it inspires other young athletes to chase their dreams and know that anything is possible."
