BLACKOUT BELK

Stephen Curry, Under Armour Add a Coy Touch to Davidson Uniforms

The 2019 NBA All-Star Game is in Charlotte this weekend, and at Davidson College, that means one thing - Stephen Curry has returned to the Queen City. Stephen was on hand to see his Wildcats take on Saint Joseph's, and he brought some swag with him, courtesy of Under Armour. Friday’s game is a traditional “BlackOut Belk” game - where Davidson takes the court in Belk Arena wearing their anthracite alternate uniforms, and the Davidson fans join in, going all-out in all-black for the biggest game.

But with the NBA All-Star Game in town and Stephen on hand, it was time to take it up a notch, as the team was gifted the newest version of their alternate uniforms, inspired by Stephen’s Curry 6 Coy Fish colorway that he’ll be wearing during the NBA All-Star Game.

The Curry 6 Coy Fish is inspired by the moment when Curry helped former Davidson teammate Steve Rossiter jump into the koi fish pond at a local restaurant while celebrating Stephen’s 21st birthday. Curry was the decoy in the escapade, distracting the hostess while Rossiter jumped in the water and tried to grab one of the koi fish. But coach Bob McKillop got his hands on the surveillance footage, and the Wildcats ended up doing quite a few sprints as punishment.

Appropriately, Stephen’s Coy Fish All Star colorway will debut with Davidson, where it all started. The team will be wearing the Curry 6 Coy Fish and all black uniforms with neon numbers and trim to match the footwear.  Even the student section got in on the action with custom Davidson t-shirts. Stephen took in the game courtside as the celebratory homecoming weekend rolled on.
