THE UA FORGE 96 HEADS WEST

A New Cast Introduces Three Colorways Inspired by the City of Angels

The latest colorways of the Baltimore-original UA Forge 96 feature a West Coast flair. The UA Sportstyle team traveled to Los Angeles and teamed up with photographer Jason Lee to capture the lookbook throughout the areas of Runyon Canyon, Pershing Square, Echo Park and Beverly Hills. Continuing UA Sportstyle's Season II theme of athletes living at the intersection of performance and style, the models have backgrounds rooted in sport. Here, they share personal anecdotes of the impact sport has had on their careers and outlook on their personal style.

Releasing globally on March 8, the three newest colorways – Black/Petrol Blue/Coded Blue, Summit White/Guardian Green/Zap Green and Lava/Petrol Blue/Capri – retail for $120 USD and are available in limited quantities at UA.com and select retail partners.

SECOND FROM LEFT – Angelina (Angi) Yasmeen Krawczyk is a former soccer, cross-country and track and field athlete who shares, "Sports have influenced my career by teaching me teamwork, fight, competition and passion. I learned pain is part of life. I used to play on broken bones because I mentally could never give up the fight. If I give every single thing I've got, there's nothing I can regret."

SECOND LEFT AND RIGHT – Will Breveard grew up playing basketball and baseball before starting track and field in high school. "Playing sports definitely got me in style and sneakers. I think sneakers are important to the culture of sports. The feel and look, it’s part of it. I grew up in that and really embodied it. I would customize my cleats before my track meets, and always took my performance very serious."

FAR RIGHT – Justin Knight grew up in the Bay Area playing basketball. "This heavily influenced my career because it taught me work ethic and helped me find myself as a designer, too. I got introduced to the shoe culture through basketball, which then led me into fashion when I was young. I now design, cut, sew and style full-time. Basketball was definitely a huge factor that helped me discover my career."

Tni Welch shares, "I come from a sports-oriented family on both sides; everyone has either played more than one sport or coached teams. Coming from a competitive background, basketball and soccer helped me control my passion and drive, and helped me believe in myself and see how much of a leader I can be. It takes real discipline and consistency to win and to fight for it."

Since 1996, Under Armour has been steadfast in its mission to elevate athlete performance product, and the UA Forge 96 celebrates that legacy with a reimagined approach to footwear. The UA Forge 96 showcases nineties-inspired design elevated through modern materials, featuring a reflective framework outfitted with premium leathers, soft suedes, and panels of technical mesh for strategic ventilation. The upper is then placed atop an EVA foam midsole with a molded TPU heel stabilizer and a classic lace system.

The UA Forge 96 releases from Under Armour’s UA Sportstyle category that launched last summer with the introduction of this new footwear silhouette. UA Sportstyle aims to adapt Under Armour’s athletic legacy into new and upcoming lines of apparel and footwear at the intersection of performance and style.
