- Joel Embiid, Professional Basketball Player

Growing up in Yaoundè, Cameroon, Embiid played volleyball for most of his childhood until moving to the states at the age of 16 to take his shot at playing high school basketball in Florida. His natural talent on the court led him to play for Kansas for a year where he was a finalist for the Naismith College Player of the Year award before being drafted by Philadelphia in the first round. Despite injuries and setbacks, Joel Embiid continued to prove that putting in the work, pushing past any moment of doubt and facing adversity head-on would lead him to forge his own path to victory.
