A New Era of Athlete Storytelling

Under Armour introduces Lab96 Studios, its new in-house content studio designed to deliver athlete stories in fresh, episodic, and cinematic ways. The move signals a major evolution for the brand, shifting away from traditional marketing toward more evergreen, entertainment-driven content designed to engage athletes and fans of the brand.  

 

From short-form social series to docuseries and long-form originals, Lab96 Studios is where competition, creativity, and culture collide.

We Are Football

The studio made its debut in September with We Are Football, a short film that sets the tone for Under Armour’s new approach to longer-form content. The film spotlights brand ambassadors, from Gunna and NFL athletes to UA Next talent and emerging stars in women’s flag football, bringing the brand’s performance ethos to life in a cinematic way.

Lab96 Studios is building a slate of original projects with leading partners, including a high school football series in collaboration with Overtime, featuring IMG Academy and St. Frances Academy, and a docuseries on women’s flag football with SMAC Entertainment. The studio also recently launched its baseball series with Boardroom, further cementing its commitment to athlete-driven storytelling. At Under Armour’s new global headquarters in Baltimore, plans are underway for a state-of-the-art studio and podcast space, underscoring the brand’s long-term investment in creating content that connects culture, competition, and creativity.
