To the Greatest of All Time: Tom Brady

Under Armour celebrates a legend 23 seasons in the making

A legendary example of the dedication and focused mindset needed to turn a passion into an accomplished career, Tom Brady took a moment in an emotional beach-side video to let his fans know that he was "retiring for good."

“Thank you guys for allowing me to live my absolute dream,” Brady said on Instagram. “I am truly grateful on this day... I wouldn't change a thing.”

Tom Brady has always been a force of his own in professional football. A quarterback whose teams found a way to win – at home and away, in regular season and playoffs – and a role model for those looking for ways to strive for more. Starting out as the 199th overall pick in the 2000 draft, Brady’s success is measured not just in rings, but in longevity and the respect gained on and off the field.

For the last 12 years, Under Armour has been a proud partner with Brady during many of his professional milestones, and today celebrates the superstar who redefined the limits of his sport.

“As a player, Tom Brady was a wonder, and as a person, he remains an inspiration,” said Kevin Plank, Under Armour Founder and Executive Chairman. “His dedication to training not just his body but his mental strength demonstrated how we all can unlock our best performance. We were honored to play a role in his professional career, and he will always be part of the UA family.”

Brady’s career looms so large it can be hard to put in context. For example: Brady started 10 championship games – double the number of games for the second-ranked quarterback, and four more than any other player. Here’s the top list of pro football records Brady holds, many of which may never be broken.

  • Best QB regular season win-loss record: 286-95
  • Most playoff wins: 35
  • Most championship wins at QB: 7
  • Oldest player to win a championship (age 43)
  • Most passing yards: 89,214
  • Most passing touchdowns: 649

Thank you, Tom. You’ve shown us all what it means to strive for more and your competitive spirit will be missed. Congratulations on your retirement and cheers to all this next chapter brings.
