To the Greatest of All Time: Tom Brady

Under Armour celebrates a legend 22 seasons in the making

A legendary example of the dedication and focused mindset needed to turn a passion into an accomplished career, Brady took a moment to reflect on what it all meant in a statement this week.

“My playing career has been such a thrilling ride, and far beyond my imagination, and full of ups and downs,” Brady said on Instagram. “When you’re in it every day, you really don’t think about any kind of ending.”

Tom Brady has always been a force of his own in professional football. A quarterback whose teams found a way to win – at home and away, in regular season and playoffs – and a role model for those looking for ways to strive for more. Starting out as the 199th overall pick in the 2000 draft, Brady’s success is measured not just in rings, but in longevity and the respect gained on and off the field.

For the last 11 years, Under Armour has been a proud partner with Brady during many of his professional milestones, and today celebrates the superstar who redefined the limits of his sport.

“As a player, Tom Brady was a wonder, and as a person, he remains an inspiration,” said Kevin Plank, Under Armour Founder and Executive Chairman. “His dedication to training not just his body but his mental strength demonstrated how we all can unlock our best performance. We were honored to play a role in his professional career, and he will always be part of the UA family.”

“I think about all the great players and coaches I was privileged to play with and against – the competition was fierce and deep, JUST HOW WE LIKE IT,” Brady added. “…I will remember and cherish these memories and re-visit them often. I feel like the luckiest person in the world.”

Brady’s career looms so large it can be hard to put in context. For example: Brady started 10 championship games – double the number of games for the second-ranked quarterback, and four more than any other player. Here’s the top list of pro football records Brady holds, many of which may never be broken.

  • Best QB regular season win-loss record: 243-73
  • Most playoff wins: 35
  • Most championship wins at QB: 7
  • Oldest player to win a championship (age 43)
  • Most MVP awards: 8
  • Most game-winning drives: 53

Thank you, Tom. You’ve shown us the meaning of The Only Way Is Though and your competitive spirit will be missed. Congratulations on your retirement and cheers to all this next chapter brings.
