Under Armour and award-winning photographer, Devin Allen, present the first lookbook for UA Sportstyle’s new pinnacle sneaker, the UA Forge 96. The collection highlights the UA Forge 96 by capturing Under Armour and Allen’s shared history of fighting their way to success from humble Baltimore roots through an entrepreneurial drive and DIY spirit.
“The UA Forge 96 represents Under Armour’s beginnings; a story of family, hustle and leadership. You can find these influences in our city of Baltimore, and we wanted to embrace this by tapping into the local art scene for the shoot," explains Allen. "Baltimore is a hidden gem and we wanted to shine a light on a different side to our city, while using my life as a local artist as inspiration to guide us. Every location chosen is where I live, socially hang, and create amongst my peers. The models are those who look like friends and creators I interact with. Overall, it was inspired by a day-in-life of this unique community captured by our in-house creative squad at UA.”
Since 1996, Under Armour has been steadfast in its mission to elevate athlete performance product and the UA Forge 96 celebrates that legacy with a reimagined approach to footwear. The UA Forge 96 showcases a 90’s-inspired design elevated through modern materials; featuring a reflective framework outfitted with premium leathers, soft suedes, and panels of technical mesh for strategic ventilation. The upper is then placed atop an EVA foam midsole with a molded TPU heel stabilizer and a classic lace system, bringing the iconic design language of the ‘90s into a clean, modern context.
The UA Forge 96 will release globally for $120 USD in limited quantities on August 31, in a Grey/Red/Blue/Black colorway at UA.com and select retailers.
