"MY POPS SACRIFICED EVERYTHING"

Bryce Harper Thanks His Dad With New Father's Day Cleats

My pops sacrificed everything to help me fulfill my dream. I would give anything in this world to thank him every single day and tell him how much I love him.

These words are written on the cleat that Bryce Harper will wear this Sunday, June 16. The message, which is printed on the eyestay of his signature cleat, drew inspiration from Bryce's 2015 MVP acceptance speech, when he gave thanks and praised appreciation to his pops (and momma). A role model who guided him to become the elite baseball player that he is today, Ron Harper supported his son’s love of sports from as early as Bryce can remember. From helping Bryce perfect his swing to celebrating his hard work with cherished trips to get slushies after practice, Bryce had a father, friend and mentor all built into one man.

Bryce Harper decided to commemorate those meaningful and crucial moments by wearing an exclusive Father's Day colorway of the yet-to-be released UA Harper 4 cleat. Designed exclusively for Bryce, this cleat represents the journey the two have taken from Bryce’s Little League days to standing together at the All-Star Game after Bryce’s Home Run Derby win.

The UA Harper 4 Father’s Day cleats feature a radial wrap of smartwoven fabric around the forefoot panel and heel counter designed with playful bright orange, blue and yellow swirls to resemble those slushies the two drank together many years ago. This wrap allows for biomechanically correct foot support, and lightweight comfort in the baseball performance zones. Unique to the UA Harper 4 cleat, the Father’s Day exclusive additionally features a TPU outsole with rubber spikes in the heel area, designed for comfort while standing in the outfield, and metal toe spikes for traction when hitting, throwing and running.
