The last 150 years of college football have transcended sport, becoming a cultural phenomenon that is unmatched in passion – making every Saturday in the fall an unofficial holiday for fans across the United States.
While tailgates and student sections are more recent revelations, the sense of pride and tradition around football programs at schools across the country have united communities for generations.
To commemorate the NCAA's season long celebration of college football's 150th birthday, Under Armour is highlighting the heritage of 12 partner schools with historically inspired uniforms, sideline apparel and fan gear. The 12 schools that will wear the exclusive uniforms are: Boston College, Cincinnati, Colorado State, Maryland, Northwestern, Notre Dame, South Carolina, Temple, Texas Tech, University of California-Berkeley, Utah and Wisconsin.
While giving a nod to the rich history of the past, UA will be delivering innovative material technology in the gridiron gear to ensure the student-athletes are able to compete at the highest level.
Additional details behind the inspiration of each uniform will be unveiled throughout the season as the schools prepare to break out the retro threads.
