PERPETUALLY FOCUSED

Anthony Joshua showcases innovative Under Armour training apparel at open session

London’s iconic boxing venue York Hall, played host to Anthony Joshua Wednesday evening, as he gave the public a glimpse of the meticulous training regimen required to defeat Alexander Povetkin, his dangerous mandatory challenger, on Saturday night.

As well as showcasing his impressive hand speed and lateral movement with trainer Rob McCracken, AJ also showcased Under Armour’s latest training apparel, UA Perpetual Powerprint.

Designed with elite athletes in mind, the apparel’s construction has a unique focus on stability, providing maximum flexibility and muscle support which serves to both improve performance while supporting proper form. In addition to being durable and sturdy, the UA Perpetual Powerprint series is also made of UA’s signature HeatGear fabric, which is sweat wicking, quick drying and allows for maximum breathability.

Anthony Joshua’s emphatic sporting and sportstyle appeal was on full display as 1,200 people crammed into the East London venue and were not disappointed as AJ – in a move that has now become synonymous with his open training sessions – met and mingled with supporters for a full 45 minutes after completing his workout session.

"At this stage of preparation, the hard work is done and recovery, making sure I'm fresh on fight night, is the top priority. There are many ways of ensuring your recovery is on point, but what you wear can really make a difference and I'm grateful for the level of research and expertise that Under Armour have committed to this range."

“I love the fan reaction at these open training sessions and so it’s only right I give them my time back. I’ve been focused on my training regimen for months, so it’s a boost for me to see the passionate fans tonight," AJ continued. "It reminds me that it’s not just me in the ring on the night. The fans, as well as my training team and friends, are part of a fight night family and I’m looking forward to putting myself to the test on Saturday.”
