ORGANIZATIONAL ANNOUNCEMENT

The following was sent from Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank to all global teammates on October 15, 2018 at Noon EST.

TEAM,

With a mix of sadness and gratitude, today we are announcing the departure of Kerry Chandler, Chief Human Resources Officer, who will be leaving November 2 to assume a new challenge. As she prepares for this next chapter, we want to say thank you to Kerry and celebrate her leadership and outstanding contributions to Under Armour.

Over the past four years, as we’ve continued our transformation to a significantly more consumer-centric, retail-based and global brand, we have built an HR organization dedicated to enabling, engaging, and empowering our teammates. During her tenure, when the number of teammates increased 40 percent, Kerry and the team designed and delivered many of Under Armour’s signature programs–Pre-Season Training; Armour U; our leadership development program including unconscious bias training; the creation of our culture clubs; and, our Diversity Drives Innovation platform. Across all disciplines, we have built an impressive global HR function, thanks in large part to Kerry’s leadership, vision and execution.

Looking forward, we feel confident and proud that we are well positioned to continue our evolution toward best practices, industry-leading programs and improved processes. Our passion for our teammates and the Under Armour brand fuels our commitment to advancing our culture, including diversity and inclusion which is a core operating element of our global team and regarded as a key catalyst for our innovation.

That said, there is much more work ahead of us. We are 100% committed to building on the foundation that Kerry and her team have architected to enhance our culture, attract and retain talent, and offer our teammates the opportunity to flourish at Under Armour. We truly have the best team on the planet driving our business and our investment in your career is a top priority for our leadership team.

Personally, I want to thank Kerry for her partnership and counsel. Most importantly, I want to thank her for sharing my passion for our TEAM. She will remain a great friend and partner, to me and to this brand. And she is not going far, heading back to NYC for her next chapter, so we expect her to stay in touch–and we know she will be rooting for UA as we continue our transformation.

We have initiated a global search for our new CHRO where we will consider both internal and external candidates. In the interim, Michele Campion–VP, Human Resources currently supporting Supply Chain and Corporate Service functions–will assume the interim leadership position of the HR team and report directly to me.

Please join me in wishing Kerry all the best for this next chapter of her career!
