UA Yard Home Run Derby 2019

Home Run Derby Customs for Guerrero Jr.

Under Armour's Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Steps Up to the Plate for the 2019 Home Run Derby

A high energy stage for some of Major League Baseball’s top athletes to showcase their power, the Home Run Derby is one of the most exciting sporting events of the year. One of the youngest and most dynamic stars in all of baseball will be making his Home Run Derby debut on July 8 in Cleveland, and will be doing it in style. Vladimir Guerrero Jr., the youngest player (20 years, 114 days old) ever to appear in the Home Run Derby, looks to mash a few moon shots and give the competition all he's got in custom UA Yard cleats.

The limited-edition Home Run Derby UA Yard colorway features numbers printed across the TPU cleat plate that correspond to the wall dimensions of Progressive Field, home to the 2019 All-Star Game: 325 feet for right and left field, 370 feet for left center, 375 feet for right center, 405 feet for straightaway center, and 410 feet for the deepest part of the ballpark, deep left centerfield. In addition, the vamp is speckled with miniature aerial outlines of the field.

The UA Yard has been uniquely popular for pros and amateurs alike, with a molded heel stretch collar, signature textiles, UA Charged Cushioning® and molded sockliner – which forms perfectly to the foot and feels like a sneaker. In addition, the UA Yard features nine metal spikes that dig in for explosive speed and power.

To build momentum leading up to the T-Mobile Home Run Derby, Under Armour, MLB® and DICK’S Sporting Goods hosted an in-store competition for athletes ages 8-18. The athletes were able to show off their skills in THE CAGE at participating DICK’S Sporting Goods locations to enter for a chance to win an All-Star Prize Pack, complete with a trip for two to the T-Mobile Home Run Derby and the MLB® All-Star Game® Presented by Mastercard, a $1000 DICK'S Sporting Goods shopping spree and a pair of the latest Under Armour cleats.
