UA Set to Rock n’ Roll at All-Star Game

Under Armour Athletes Head to Cleveland for the 2019 All-Star Game

On Tuesday, July 9, Under Armour athlete Christian Yelich will step onto Progressive Field in front of fans from across the country to represent the National League in the 2019 All-Star Game. The reigning Major League Baseball MVP will be a starter for the first time in this year's highly anticipated Midsummer Classic, taking place in Cleveland, Ohio.

To show his gratitude for the opportunity and excitement for the big game ahead of him, Yelich will be wearing colorful UA Yard cleats that give a nod to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, one of Cleveland’s most famous sites. The sleek white cleats contrast with a colorful tie-die pattern and the words “LET’S ROCK LET’S ROLL” printed on the tongue. The inside of the cleat features the silhouette of a baseball player in full uniform swinging a guitar as if it were a baseball bat.

Christian Yelich isn't the only UA athlete elected to start the Midsummer Classic, as he'll be joined by Willson Contreras and Freddie Freeman in the National League starting lineups, while Justin Verlander will toe the rubber for the American League. Additionally, pitchers José Berríos and Sandy Alcantara, along with reserve players Austin Meadows and Jeff McNeil, will also be in Cleveland for the game and wearing the UA Yard cleat. Brandon Lowe and Josh Hader were also named to the All-Star roster.

The UA Yard cleat is made with UA Charged Cushioning® and a molded sockliner, which forms perfectly to the foot and feels like a sneaker. The UA Yard also features a molded heel stretch collar, signature textiles and nine metal spikes that dig in for explosive speed and power.
