Under Armour’s Revolutionary Iso-Chill Technology Keeps You Cooler So You Can Work Out Longer

Over 20 years ago, Under Armour changed the game with performance baselayer apparel touting sweat-wicking technology, that could be used on the field, pitch, slopes, and beyond by pros and amateurs alike looking for a competitive advantage.

Sometimes, though, it’s too warm for a base layer. Like a sticky afternoon fishing on the lake, grinding through 18 holes in the late August Northeast humidity, or legging out a half marathon in the dead of summer. The fact is, heat causes fatigue; it makes your body work harder to cool itself, which causes you to reach your VO2 max faster—a direct effect on your endurance capabilities. Bottom line, you get too hot, you become mentally and physically fatigued, you can’t work as long. That was, until now, when Under Armour went back to the drawing board and came up with one of the brands most revolutionary technologies to-date: UA Iso-Chill.

UA Iso-Chill breaks shirt construction all the way down to the threads, introducing a proprietary yarn that literally pulls heat away from the body the same way ice pulls heat out of liquids. The product innovation team at Under Armour found that a ribbon-shaped nylon fiber would best disperse heat, making your skin feel cool, and by simultaneously treating fabrics with titanium dioxide, it would pull heat away from the skin, physically making you cooler. The effect is an instant cooling sensation that has to be felt to be believed - like wrapping yourself with the cool side of your pillow and it lasts all day long. No longer does the summer mean suffering—with UA Iso-Chill, the outdoors can be loose and breezy again, in any situation, giving you the tools to push you beyond what you ever thought possible. The proof is in the ice—testing showed that athletes wearing Iso-Chill take 7-12% longer to hit their VO2 max. Now you can run, train, and stay outside longer, so you can keep getting better.

Available now as part of  UA Golf, UA Fish, and in a number of new styles for UA Running,  Iso-Chill is being utilized across the Under Armour portfolio, ensuring athletes on all fields of play, even in the hottest temps, have the opportunity to stay cool, work longer, and get better.
